Here at Malabar, 2020 has been a year of renewal and change, being that for the first time in 15 years we didn’t have any children at school, both of the boys actually left home for a period of time (oh how quiet it was) and Ali and I had some time to readjust to these new circumstances.
During February and March we had some wonderful grass growing rain, however for the 5th year in a row, now significant rain events or running water. For the most part the cattle have responded well to some fresh grass, after an extended period of dry weather.
And then COVID hit – and the boys are back! And I was working from home, with a significant demand for information from clients navigating their own COVID scenarios. Life as we know it within the South East, has changed, and I think will never return, based on the policy issued to us via government.
This year has been one of renewed focus on delivering a quality product and undertaking the necessary actions for this to happen. Analysing our cattle through probably one of the driest and feed restricted periods we have experienced since being back on the farm has proved to us the resilience of some of our cow families and their ability to produce quality weaners. We look forward to bringing you an update on some of the yearlings over the coming months.
Along with this has been the decision to undertake a full revamp of our website, with the engagement of Stud Stock Marketing to walk us through this process, to help us tell our story of who we are, and of our cattle business.
If you have a few minutes take a look at our website www.malabarredbrahmans.com.au and I welcome any feedback you have.
